Prelude - Water, Spirit, Blood
Call to Worship

Dear Lord,  thank you  for your promise that where two or three are gathered You are there in the midst.  Lord, we welcome You amongst us today and celebrate the gift of life that You have lavished upon each of us.  Open our minds so that we may receive Your eternal wisdom. Open our spirits so that we may know Your leading and guidance.  And open our hearts  so that we may receive Your wonderful love.  We ask all this in the glorious name of Jesus. Amen.

Hymn - A Child of the King
Invocation and Lord's Prayer

Lord, we come because Your grace has called us, Your mercy has cleansed, and Your peace is upon us.  With joy for Your gifts we offer this prayer of Jesus to You, saying: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.  Amen.

Scripture Reading - 1 John 5:1-12

1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. 2 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3 In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.  6 This is the one who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. 7 For there are three that testify: 8 the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. 9 We accept human testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son. 10 Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this testimony. Whoever does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. 11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

Joys and Concerns

Heavenly Father, we come before you with hearts filled with gratitude for your unwavering grace, boundless mercy, and abiding peace. We thank you for your faithfulness, even when we fail to be faithful to you.  We ask for your continued blessings upon us, that we may experience your grace in every aspect of our lives. May your mercy cover our shortcomings and sins, and may your peace fill our hearts and minds, guiding us through every challenge and difficulty.  Help us to walk in your ways, to reflect your love, and to be instruments of your grace, mercy, and peace to others. May we be a source of comfort and encouragement to those in need, and may we always remember your unwavering love and support.  In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
